In a large pot, warm cooking oil over medium-high heat
Add the beef chunks and sauté until brown all over. Set aside on a plate.
In a separate pan, add cooking oil and sauté celery and onion for ten minutes, or until golden
Add the cooked beef, chopped tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, beef broth, water, bay leaves, and garlic powder
Bring to a boil then reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for about an hour, or until beef is almost tender.
Add hot sauce, sweetcorn, and peas. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until beef is fully tender. Serve and season.
